I have pruned this pear since 2008 or so. It was nearly lost, a stump with sprouts. But seeing its vigor, and knowing pears to grow quickly and offer many options for structural restoration, I agreed to work on it. I simplified its form by choosing several main vertical new trunks, and have since continued to prune it for better fruiting, easier picking, and charming good looks.
