This tree had been pruned skillfully for some years before I first worked on it in 2010. I have since maintained and developed further its wonderful structure of undulating horizontal and ascending branches. It requires some structural cuts in the winter, and much thinning and reduction of leafy shoots in the late spring. A tree such as this one, in full sun and with happy soil and moisture conditions, grows vigorously and one must be vigilant in order to keep it in scale and proper form, according to the clients' needs.
