A Deodar Cedar (Cedrus deodara), sheared for many years with a gas-powered hedge-trimmer. When I first approached the tree in August, 2014, it was a mere mass of foliage--a decent shape, for a tree that must be kept small in this context, but with no view of its structure or bark.
